Earth-Bound Angel

Wings bound and

tethered tight..

Never to know 

the thrill of flight.

Heavenly eyes,

filled with brilliant light.

Peering toward the stars 

far beyond the night.

Oath-bound will torn..

between longing

and finishing the flight.

But, alas, victory

shall remain out of sight.

Destiny remains elusive,

no battle will there be tonight.

Though he wishes for the end,

with all his might,

the finish of this life

as an earth-bound knight.
